Old Time Hymn Rendition
June 25, 2014
Reviewer:  Caroline P

We applaud Michael W. Smith for his rendition of "old time" hymns and how they were sung in a bygone era (in the spirit of Cracker Barrel's old time décor)! If you read the fine print on the cd cover, MWS dedicated this cd to his parents (and possibly a sister, as another female name is mentioned). He played and sang as they did in his church growing up in West Virginia, before a lot of amplification came into play in worship services. Love the banjo and fiddle, not mention the great harmonies on some of the hymns! Some of the old hymns (many written in the 1800's) are difficult to sing, but the lyrics are amazing. Great job! Really brought us back to our spiritual roots. God bless Michael W. Smith and Cracker Barrel for this wonderful, memory-filled cd. Going to purchase more for gifts!
